We had a /22 range and asked to update it to /21. Hi Guys,I am at my wits end with DHCP, We have several networks on this site with one of them playing up really bad.It all started when we ran out of IP addresses. IT person edits real extortion attempt to delivery payment to himself. This may have already been posted here, but didn't find it. I am trying to write a PowerShell script where I can launch from a technician workstation that is part of my AD do. And this server is NOT part of my Active Directory domain. I have an application server that is stores data to a local drive on that server. PowerShell Stored Credentials Programming & Development. Here I am again… this time jimender2 is putting out an IT fire! Writing this one in short span of time. Spark! Pro series – 25th May 2023 Spiceworks Originals. We'd like to have multiple scanner/computer stations running to serve as many people as we can in our time frame. Because of that, a single scanner isn't going to be enough. We are anticipating quite a few people in the span of only a couple 3 or 4 hours, likely with many documents each. What we're going to be doing is running a program where people can bring in old photos, documents, etc to have them digitized for their personal use, but also to collect for a local history collection. If this were a permanent setup, I agree 100% on networking it all. It really depends on what you are trying to accomplish, and since you don't give enough details I will only be able to offer you this generic advise. Not at first of course, due to configuration challenges, but once you understand how they work and are able to configure them properly they can do much more than just scan to a folder. Zerox makes some decent products for this. Create rules that clear that folder out every week/day depending on your use. You map all the PC's to that device through SMB and let the users scan to a predefined folder. You would save yourself time and cost if you used one(1) cooperate/ industrial grade scanner. ![]() That is unless of course your network was built in the 80's and can't support GB or at least 100Mb. Why wouldn't you want to network it? This is the best option for almost any printer/scanner IMHO. ![]() But for the sake of simplicity, we'd like to have a stand alone setup with just a scanner and a couple computers. Of course, we could go that route and setup network devices on all the computers and if that's the best option, we may have too. Like I said, the intention isn't to network anything. Does any have any experience with it, or something similar? Too many more than that, and the line to scan would probably start backing up.īut I don't know how well it works. That would make things much easier, plug them in and we're set. So we'd like to do 2 computers per scanner. There would be 4 or 5 stations of 1 scanner and 2 computers at each.ĭue to budget limitations, we really can't afford to have one computer per scanner. ![]() It's a public program where random folks can bring in old photos and documents and whatnot, we would scan them, touch them up a little if need be, then transfer them to a storage device so the patrons can have digital copies. The setup is NOT going to be networked (unless we absolutely have to). Is there a cheap way to connect two (maybe 3 or 4) machines to a single scanner?
